spiceychilli57
Just wondered if one of the mods could possibly tell me why air pistols aren't allowed to be advertised in the sale section? I understand why not live round pistols but couldnt really understand whats wrong with air pistols. Im probably being a bit dimm somewhere but just wanted it cleared up for me. Thanks
Mungler
It's in the house rules. That's the short answer. The long answer is because there's plenty of legal issues attached to flogging them from the self contained cartridge Brocock ones that are easily converted into full on firearms through from legal age to sell / acquire, legal delivery, payment issues and that all the teenage scammers deal in airpistols and expensive air rifles. Accordingly, the people that run this place would rather have nowt to do with them, thereby avoid any responsibility both in terms of legal and wiping peoples' bottoms when it all goes wrong.... Zapp
It is also because of the recent change in the law regarding "realistic immitation firearms". Many air pistols, especially airsoft guns, fall under new legislation under the Violent Crimes Reduction Act. We had a very long discussion between the mods over where best to draw the line, and finally decided that the only safe way to proceed with minimum legal risk to the forum was to disallow the sale of air/CO2 pistols. Hope this clears it up for you.

Also, some people may have some of the above that used to be totally legal but now may be questionable, any legal eagles able to clarify further? Many thanks in advance.
