highseas
The thing with Privi is that people associate cheap ammo with **** ammo and all my experience is that its not. Its cheap because it doesn't have the incredible markup associated with imported American ammo. The Privi factory is actually one of the most modern in the world and the quality is good. People just can't seem to get their heads round this and assume that if you pay a lot more the ammo must be better. Well, thats their choice. OK some rifles don't like it but thats true of all ammo. All I can say is that in the target shooting world it is fast becoming the ammo of choice. too tru most guys i know with ar-15 style guns shoot it in comps
njc110381
My 6.5x55 used to shoot Prvi FMJ to much tighter groups than one of the premium brands. I can't remember which it was now but the groups were half the size and the premium stuff was about 4x the price at the time! It wasn't Federal as they did well too, but one of the big names - May have been Lapua? As suggested I think it's all down to the gun. If the rifle doesn't like it then it isn't going to shoot well no matter whether it's the cheapest or the most expensive on the shelf. That fouling round looks good frenchie. I wish my rifles would put them down like that on a first shot after a clean!
garyb
100 grn is too heavy for foxing IMHO.. Stick to something in the 70-85grn weight range.I I use 75grn Hornady V-max (reload's)
al4x
Thanks for that Dekers Mate! I haven't tried the 90g Partizans yet mate. For deer I am likely to stick to the Winchester Silver Tips but what I am looking for is a cheaper round that is "fairly consistent" to use for fox! Can I ask you, what sort of grouping are you getting using the 90 g as opposed to the 100g? If I can find some Privi 90g I will give them a try as I do like the price being the tight **** that I am! I'd possibly steer clear of the silvertips on deer, I've only used them in .223 on muntjac and they can be messy, you are far better off with a decent soft point in the 90-100 grain region. Foxing go lighter and ballistic tip 58g seems to shoot very well in mine as do the 75's
