aister
i am going to buy a new rifle in .223 shortly and had sort of set my mind on either a browning x-bolt stainless stalker or then a sako 85 hunter. i would like the most accurate rifle i can afford but the sako is just so expensive and i wonder if it is worth the extra dosh. does anyone have any thoughts on the matter? artschool
i have an xbolt and a sako quad. the xbolt is a well put together rifle but some find the trigger a bit heavy.
Alycidon
Handle them both and buy what feels nicest. No doubt some will say the the 85 shoots best others the Browning. A

I'm not sure what you are expecting here but you are very unlikely to notice ANY difference of accuracy over most manufacturers general field tools. Individual guns have individual traits and some are naturally more accurate than others, but the difference between Tikka and Sako (for example) accuracy wise, is virtually impossible to measure for most. Generally the tools are better than the shooters!

Generally the tools are better than the shooters! Absolutely spot on ! Aister - rifles are not shotguns. Either of these tools ought to be easily capable of sub 1MOA groups. If you want accuracy, dont look to the rifle for inceases, look to the ammunition. My Sako 75s were quite average with factory ammo. With reloads to suit the rifles they were devastating. If you can only just afford the Sako then get the Browning and some reloading equipment. That will be way more accurate then the extra spent on the Sako rifle alone.
