Chard
Biggest shot size you can use in Reg English Sporting is a 6 (2.6mm ) and the smallest is a 9 (2.0mm) Azzurri. Timps uses grapeshot and canister, and he's still in B Class
TaxiDriver
I dont it makes a difference if you point the gun in the right place it breaks, you point a gun in the wrong place it dosent brake. you probably all disagree with me but what the heck! Couldn't pick a break so got both eventualities covered ?
scuta
I used to use a multi choke gun (with the full range of chokes) & carry a selection of shells, 7.5's, 8's & 9's on every shoot. Now I've gone down the fixed route - 3/4 & full. 8's for sporting, 9's for skeet & 7.5's for DTL. The moment I stopped ******* about & started concentrating on shooting, my scores increased - 96/100 at sporting, 98/100 at skeet & 100 straight at DTL - oh & my bag got considerably lighter to carry around!!!! As an aside, I've shot a round of DTL with skeet & skeet & 9.5's . (Just being lazy, planned to shoot a round of skeet) They all broke. I've come to the conclusion that (within reason) it doesn't really matter what you use, as long as you deliver the lead in the right place! scuta
Ahh, bless your little cottons! A nice thought but alas no. I have neither the big man's talent, money or waist line (well, perhaps the waist line) I was perhaps poorly attempting to illustrate that tight chokes weren't a hindrance to my scores. Worrying about everything but studying the target & shooting in the right place was! Obviously, I shamelessly used my best ever scores to illustrate the point, happily glossing over my usual dross! Spara Dritto
Cant beat 7.5 for sporting and 8 or 9s for skeet.
