;) You are not alone roblade :)

It's difficult knowing how to react to poor spelling posters - for me it's a case of assuming the person with poor spelling didn't get much schooling. Then I try and guage if they are to55er5 that didn't want to help themselves - or were victims of a poor teacher.

Either way I feel sympathy towards them, in that in this day and age teachers are not allowed to be strict enough to compel the pupil to learn.

ok sorry i'll type normall now because im not a chav! Does anyone know anywhere to go shooting around the shrewsbury area where me and a mate can have a good day shooting pigeons and other vermin with our rifles.

Will ;)

Is there a club nearby?

The sad truth is you (or indeed anyone) is unlikely to get an invite from a forum like this without any prior meeting or introduction.

Just ask around local farmers and other land owners. It is a slow and painful way of doing it but you will get there eventually.

Good luck.

Would back up Snakey on this one...........I joined a club and once I had got my foot in the door I was invited out on a number of shoots by the lads that have got their permissions sorted. Often go out with one member frequently..

Helps also that once you have got your own bit of land, no matter how big or small to return the favour.

Jumping on line and asking "anyone know" automaticaly puts a lot of people on the back foot. More often than not the guys that have got the land are the ones that have got of their ***** and gone out to do the hard work.

I work in retail sales and service, and its still hard driving up to a door and giving it a knock. But you just have to do it. People wont hand you things on a plate....Its not people trying to be anti, but Im sure that you would appreciate coming on to a forum as a new member and asking the question straight off might not get you the reply that you want.

People need to get to know you, Im new on here myself. Ive just moved house and I have got off my **** and been round to the local farms. Got knocked back on my first farm, got permission on my second.

Now its the case of building the relationship with the owner, keeping them happy, being responsible and looking after the shoot that I have secured. Fingers crossed Ive got it for years to come....
