Needing a decent scope but not too expensive. This scope will only go on a Air rifle. so needs to be decent at 30-50 yrds. zoom.

If anyone has one just kicking around..... please pm me with photo, description or what ever you can. I have a paypal account.. so if you do its easier to send money to you.

Thank you again.

Jon :)

Jon,

If its for hunting a good general purpose scope would be a 3-9x40. Obviously the more you spend the better you get but I would look for a Mil-dot recticle and possibly an IR - Illumintaed Recticle.

If you want it for target purposes as well you may want to consider a scope with PA - Paralax Adjustment which will help to determine distance etc.

If the scope is going on a springer, make sure that it is rated for an airgun this is normally denoted AG.

If your using it at dusk it is important to get a good quality scope with quality glass. Another thing that will help is a 30mm tube, though some say the science doesnt make a different. However, the bigger the objective lens, the better the light gatthering will be.

The other thing to consider is, will you upgrade your rifle in the future and will you want to keep the same scope.

Put all this together and you should get what your after. Personally I like the follwing, a little overkill for a 12ft/lb rifle, but what a scope:

Nikko Stirling - Night Eater 30mm 6-24x56 PA IR

what are the cross hairs like on this scope.

i like to be able to have the standard (+) with a small opening to view my prey in the middle.

i hate these ones where they look like

(_I_) or simmular...

lol

Anybody would think you were receiving royalties on these scopes axe.

Probably because people keep asking the same questions eh? :) Seriously though, its a damn good scope and i'm well chuffed with it.

I asked everyone axe.. lol

but good advice i think on that scope.

i might buy it and give it a go....................

axe just curiouse but what are the basic specs for that scope? (length and weight) that is a nice scope for targets though, think i would prefer something a little more compact for the field though.

when i go hunting i dont want to be spending my time fidling with PX wondering if im going to forget to turn the IR on or off changing the mag becasue i havnt got a very good field of view and worrying about if i have move the turrets when i was taking it in and out of the bag or moving it about.

Bushnelle trophy does the job i want it to do and it does the job amazingly well. but then again so does a hawke 3-9x40 30/30 ret LOL

if you wanting something for the fields somethign small and compact would be the best scope.

If you want it for targets high mag and side wheel PA would be best, but a side wheel for the fields really is a waste of time when your only shooting out to 35-35 yards. (esspecialy if using a .177!!!!)
