mpk
I don'tHave a rifle but could you bait a site for a few nights then shoot it? As said I don't own rifles.
apache
Foxes are creatures of habit. You could well be going at the wrong time. Has the fox been seen? You are wasting your time going for the same two hours each night.
Simon123
I agree with 'MPK'. So try baiting for a few night's then shoot him. I dont this the other day and worked a treat, on the night i shot the Charlie he was waiting for his food 10yds away   Edited March 13, 2011 by Simon123
vulpicide
If the fox is coming round to check on a food source (hens) dont call just sit quiet and watch try around the time he snatched the poultry. Sometimes the change in the normal routine is enough to alert the fox so sit and listen to the songbirds magpies etc they will let you know when you have a visitor. gixer1
Elmer, Just to confirm - you do have a shotgun or rifle right? If he is coming round , stay quiet and just sit in wait, usually around dusk is when they appear in my experience... Regards, Gixer
elmar fudd
at the moment i only have a shotgun
gixer1
In than case stay quiet until you see him, be in a well hidden spot, elevated if possible such as a high seat, then make the faintest squeak (he will hear it!) and hopefully come running - when he's within 30 yards give him both barrels! (the heavier the shot the better!) Regards, Gixer Edited March 15, 2011 by gixer1

Frenchieboy
thanks everyone i have been baiting the area for the past couple of days with dead crows, will let you know how i get on when the battery arrives for my lamp If Charlie has started taking your "bait" regularly why not use the "Alarm Clock Method" to find out what time he is "visiting" you. As has been said, foxes are creatures of habit and this could save you wasting pointless hours waiting for him when he might well be miles away! If you are not sure what the "Alarm Clock Method" is drop me a pm and I will explain for you!
