caeser
I've had 2 of them now. First one I had was the 2.5 diesel, which I thought was good. I had that for 4 years. Never had an ounce of trouble, oh sorry the glow plugs got changed. Then in 2006 I bought a 3.0 intercooler version. Which is the top dog hilux surf. I've still got that, and I think its superb. Fuel consumption is really good, much better than the 2.5 old one.I get over 30 mpg on a run. If I drive like an old man on a sunday drive, I can easily get 35 mpg. Its got plenty of power, will outgun most other 4x4's in its class. Loads of room in the boot, goes anywhere. Never had any trouble whatsoever. I bought it with 60k on the clock, it now has 150k and runs like a dream. Smooth ride, quiet. Basically, what I'm saying is, don't bother with a 2.5 get a 3.0ltr, and if you can push it to an intercooler one then do it.
Dempy
Great trucks, but get the pick up, actually, I think there is a really good one just come up in other sales!!!
masterzone2
OH yes get the pick-up all the way sadly I have had to sell my double cab mark 4 as its no longer suitable for work- I'll be getting the single cab (longer buck) more suitable for work other wise after 4 1/2 years I'd still be using a HILUX pick-up they are epic machines and I highly recommend then all the way! motty
I've only had my surf for around 7 months, but it is quality and i love it. It's the 3 litre ssrg gen 3 ( like caesar's). It's good on the road and from what i've seen so far, more than handy off road, too.
