ferretmanabu
I was hoping someone on here could help. I have a younger brother and three cousins aged between 7 and 11. I wanted to let them have a try of shooting and country sports but I'm not really experienced enough myself to teach them anything. Has anyone tried the BASC young shots activity days? If so, are they any good? Are there any other options?
Cranfield
I don't personally know anyone who has attended, but I have heard that they are quite good. If you work on the basis that anything is better than nothing, it must be worth a try.
tenbears10
They often have tuition for young people at the game fairs don't they. Any certified coach should do a decent lesson. Maybe ask at your local clay club.

Ferret Master
Hi, The Young Shots days are good and I have been on them. You do have to be a BASC member to attend though. FM

M ROBSON
BASC run some very good young shots events, I would recommend them to anyone. I went on several as a young shot and have helped run a few since. Mark.
dunganick
i have been on one of their clay shoots (not the learning sort) it was good fun, supprisingly difficult, the people i was shooting against had their names on their skeet jackets.... damn show offs me and my dad both entered the father and son comp. both putting in 35 ex 50's top score of the day was 41 shot by a girl!!!!!!! like i said it was good fun. however the ones which are learnt to help teach people are in my honest opinion a rip off. I think it was £40 for a day learning to shoot on 25 clays, and then a 25 clay comp at the end of the day. Which to me seems very steep. but their heart (and possibly wallet) are in the right place, no doubting the youngsters you attend will enjoy every second of it, and will be taught the correct and safe use of shotguns. ferretmanabu
They say its only a tenner for the activity days now. Seems a bargain at that price.
