How To Control Vermin In The Home:

setup a small bait station out of the way with a backstop, make sure the backstop isnt solid, try using a old phone book, this will stop pellets bouncing back at you or breaking stuff around your house.

Next Step:

pop some bait down, i would use something smelly, ie catfood dogfood, or maybe peanut butter, this will not stink your house out as much as the first two listed, but you will get the same results from it.

Before you atempt to bait rats please remember to block every single hole you find around your home, try to make your house as rat proof as you possibly can, otherwise you will get more unwanted visitors...

Right now that you have everything blocked up, put your bait station down in a room where you can keep your pet from going in, and you know that there has been vermin activity in the chosen room.

Now leave the bait for atleast a day or two, let the rat/rats get to know the bait station and get to know there runways. When you are ready 1-2 days later, setup a snipe spot, make this atleast 9 feet away from your chosen target (baitstation)

rats have bad eye sight but they can make out stuff upto 6 feet infront of them, placing yourself 9 feet away will put you completey out of the rats vision.

Setup a very dim light setup next to the bait station, you only need enough light to let you see your sight picture/scope

This will work with mice or rats, there are other ways of getting rid of vermin, ie traps, this small guide is for the person who would rather tackle the little critters with there own air rifles

na, am not shooting in my house mate  but if i was to get rats/mice i would choose to use an air rifle over a trap, and i would set it up so nothing was smashed....

am sure someone on this site has had mice/rats in there home, its not a unheard thing that never hapends....

my mate has had mice before, and he has used the same sort of tactics to get rid of them..

you cant bank on traps working all the time, so i wrote a small guide for a new person/noob with vermin problems in and around there home!!

these tactics can be used outside aswell

Nowt like shooting rats in the back garden..........I sniped 5 out of the back bedroom window......

Feeding birds on the bird table, all the dropped feed was food for the rats. Had a problem due to us being next to a dissused railway line. Well it wasnt a problem...it was sport....

Quite funny when we were trying to sell the house..............Oh look, youve got a squirrel on your bird table................oh so we have,,,,,,,,now, shall we have a look at the living room............
