Mark-70
Hi, Anybody have any experience or opinions on the Hawke Endurance 30 series scopes? Was thinking of trying one one on my .22lr.
steve_b_wales
They are a brillaint scope for the money. I had one fitted to my 22-250, then put it on my .243, until I bought 'better' scopes. There is nothing wrong with the Endurance series, and the clarity is very good. I use other HAWKE scopes on my other rifles, and they too are good quality. All in all,I recommend them. Steve. Mark-70
Thanks steve, good to here that from someone who has used one. The only thing I was slightly concerned about was the parallax issue, to what distance it is set or wether as some people are saying I should choose a optics with adjustable parallax. Paddy Galore!
Hi chap, i've now got 2 of these, a 4-12x50 and a 8x56, both are very good for the money, one is going on my 22-250 when i can be ***** to fit it, had a look thru the other night and it picks out stuff very well, quite pleased and i just hope it can withstand the recoil. Mark-70
Not convinced it would, but some people say that certain scopes have the parallax set at different distances depending on what calibre rifle it is designed to be used on. Because of the distances being shot. But I myself don't know.
JRDS
why would it be an issue? Do people have problems with Fixed Power Schmidts or the like, no of course not. Parallax only becomes an issue at high magnification.
Mark-70
When put like that it makes perfect sense. I did wonder because when I've looked various makes and models up there has been no mention of of the distance or calibre it was designed for. Only that it parallaxes from say 10 yards to infinity. So based on that I thought there must be a reason for it.
steve_b_wales
Hi chap, i've now got 2 of these, a 4-12x50 and a 8x56, both are very good for the money, one is going on my 22-250 when i can be ***** to fit it, had a look thru the other night and it picks out stuff very well, quite pleased and i just hope it can withstand the recoil. They will withstand the recoil, as I've used one on my .243, with, and without a sound moderator. Steve.
Colster
I had one (3-9x42) on my HMR for a bit, found it good for lamping if it's the 30IR the IR is great. It's a single red dot that is projected on the front glass so if your head isn't lined up properly the dot won't be in the centre of the crosshairs. That prevents any parallax problems if you're on low to medium mag - mine stayed on 6x all the time. It wasn't great in low light though, not terrible but the 3-9x50 MAP Pro on the LR would keep going longer.
Mark-70
So picked up my Endurance 30 3-12 x 50 from my dealer a couple of days ago and overall I'm Really impressed, the build quality and finnish is nice and the optics are really bright and clear. Havent had chance to use it in low light or with a lamp yet so will have to wait and see if holds up. heading out tomorrow to zero it. :yp:
