Naw, in all honesty the gunsmith (and a very highly respected one at that) recommended this to me but as im getting a new scope i think ill try it at 100yds as it seems to be more common than zeroing at 50 plus most shots are in the region of 75-100yds. You zero at the most appropriate distance for the calibre and Quarry shooting distance, simple as. The reality is a 50 yard zero on a WMR is probably closer than most would use. Mine is 100 yards, but that works for me! Many ammo manufacturers will have ballistic tables on their websites, often worth a look (but only ever use as a guide). ATB! Dekers
I wish all my quarry sat at 50yds So do I, but is was a sensible considered experienced response to the question. I shoot on a LOT of different pieces of land (and gardens) with a LOT of different tools, I cannot re zero for every job but I get a lot of practice/experience. My WMR is 100 yard zeroed, simply because that works best for ME, many people have VERY limited land/shooting opportunities, so any calibre zero should be tailored to that persons calibre/land/quarry (and potentially experience).
