hogey
Went up to the farm that I am a syndicate member on as farmer had called to say millions of pigeons on recently drilled field. When I got there I spoke to him and he told me yesterday there had been at least 1500 birds attacking his crops. When I got to the field about 40 birds took of so set up a few decoys and hide and waited. Waited about an hour and nothing showing then a few coming in of which I managed to get 6 before I had to leave. I had been offerd a stalk on some nerby land so off I went with my new .243 We walked onto land and waited between two woods where deer had been seen After about 1 hour out pop 2 deer one doe one buck. Got the rifle onto the sticks and the cross hairs onto the deer. Talk about "buck fever" I thought that was just a myth,I was shaking. However I calmed myself and took the shot and down he went, stone dead. When he was gralloched the round had gone through the top of his heart giving an instant kill. I was very please with my rifle and the shot and glad it was a good humane kill. Thanks Steve for my first Buck

Dekers
nice one. I'm out for my first one on saturday morning and can't wait Good luck my friend, I always find they never turn up when you really want them to, I have had a camera crew out with me twice after the deer, and the best we saw was 1 white rear running off at a frantic pace. Trips out before and after, and many times when I don't have the right tools in my hand, produced copious numbers of sitters! Such is life. ATB!
