Grandalf
Sorry to spoil the party but, if field sports and gamekeeping have come down to this level it is a very sad day. Where is the enjoyment of being out and about on a dark night - listening to nature - using your fieldcraft - getting very great pleasure at having outwitted a wild animal in its own habitat if you get charlie? What's next, a remote controled .243 - so you only have to push a button after it has lined itself up, calculated the range, measured the wind, computed the bullet drop and drift and told you it is ready to fire? (Be great for stalking on wet and windy days). The old keepers must be shaking in their earths. (With laughter)! You are missing so, so much. OK, I put my hands up to using NV - monocular and binoculars (can't afford a scope) - but watching a TV screen while out foxing... Stay at home and play video games - that way you are sure of making a kill. (Thousands of them).
sarge
To cut down on the price of infra red lamps, which can be very expensive, i bought a small sheet of infra red plastic of e-bay which filters out all other light waves only allowing the infra red through. Works a treat. Cut the sheet to size and fit over any lamp/torch. All you can see is a dull red glow from the lamp until you look though night vision then its like day light. Not sure if its still for sell on there as i bought mine quite a while ago.
