wol the hunter
HAD a nice mixed bag this evening, arrived at 4pm and left 6.45 got 2 rabbits maggy and a pigeon with 12g,and got 2 rabbits 3 pigeons with 22 rim.one thing happened which has convinced me that you should never hunt without a dog,i had wounded a squirrel and me and dog could not find it then quite away from where it fell my dog was marking a hole under a tree.15 minutes later she dragged it out by the tail a fighting tree rat,he ran up tree and i waited then finished him of. ayano3
Went today 12:30 to 6:00, shot beans which are just poking through the ground, but rain, high wind and hailstones really put the mockers on what i thought would be a excellent day. But, I did shoot 27 woodies over the decoys between storms, (rotary didn't work today but 2 floaters 30yds back did seem to turn the birds) before moving to the spinney where I finished off the day with another 22. Stayed till 6pm to try and get one last bird to make 50 but nothing came (apart from more rain). But a good day shooting with my new gun.
