Dekers
depends how short you want my .243 has a 20 and 1/4 inch barrel and a standard wildcat goes on fine with a fair amount of room to spare balance is good but it is a very light rifle to start with. You'd just about get another inch off the barrel before you had issues with it not fitting, they do look like a big mod on a short rifle though It's a matter of choice and preference but any reduction of weight on the front of a barrel is significant to rifle balance, especially Lites, HEAVY barrels are pants in my book anyway for field work, but those who are happy to carry around 10lb + all day probably don't care about a FULL P8 on top. You takes your choice! The P8 COMPACT is a SIGNIFICANT Improvement on the Full P8 and makes a SUBSTANTIAL difference to the balance of lighter rifles! Cheers! Bowen20
my friend has just bought a browing a-bolt today from swillington shooting supplies and he asked them about a mod they showed him several and if it was just price based they would recommend a Third Eye Sparton. it looked very small and goes over the barrel and was very light. ive just been scanning other forums for reviews on it people are saying that its great as its got stainless steel internals and is completely strippable. but is a little louder than a T8 and P8 he said if price was no object to you he recommended a north star and it did look quite well. he said he would do it for £170.00 instead of £210.00 if he bought it with the rifle. but he didnt end up getting it i think he may go for it though so if he does i will tell you all how it is compared to my wildcat Pred
