Dekers
Probably one of the ballistic programs will help here, truth is I don't know, but I guess maybe 300-400 yards if pointed at the right (wrong) angle into the sky. I suspect someone will have an answer. Failing that......... Stand in the middle of the Sahara, point it about 33 degrees in the air and see where it lands! The Duncan
According to Chairgun about 370yds(AA Field .177 11.5ft/lb). That would have been my guess. I know from experience that 12fpe at 100 yards still sinks a pellet 1/4 inch or more into a scaffold plank. So no doubt would hurt a human a fair old bit at that range lol. I'd concentrate on the backstop (usually the ground) more than 'safe fall-out' distance.
kent
balistic programs assume no tumble - it will that will reduce things a lot, a following wind will increase this just like shot will carry further. All said and done though at 300 yds a shot at 30 degrees (or whatever the optimum angle is) will be within your boundry imo if you call it the
