henry d
Righty ho, Mr.Lee doesn`t show 160 for a 129gn, but does for 130gn. Should I just start with the minimum of 41.7gn and work up ? Cheers guys
chrisv
Henry, The Vihtavuori loads for a 130gr bullet are 43.0gr start to 47.3gr max. I think the Lee ones are very conservative, (assuming you are using a modern action). My Tikka T3 used to give signs of low pressure at the Viht starting loads. Hope this helps. seeker
1 Book/ 1 calibre data Hornady shows 129 gn COL 3.035 N160 start 30.9gn for 2200 fps to max 43.6.gn for 2700. Hornady case + Rem WLR You may wish to check Hornadys site? Edited May 10, 2011 by seeker
henry d
Cheers guys......seeker, not having a go, but 2200 sounds quite pedestrian does n`t it ?
seeker
Cheers guys......seeker, not having a go, but 2200 sounds quite pedestrian does n`t it ? Almost to the point of loitering aimlessly .... but the manual layout is in 6 columns going down in 100 fps steps. so showing the load req for a given speed rather than speed from a given load. But its not far from the velocities listed by Viht for the 130? might be worth a 2x check on Hornadys site?
