A bimble over some beans

Evening one and all,

Had a bimble out over a field of sown beans. Shot Monday afternoon from 2pm-5pm and bagged 45 woodies and 17 corvids. I returned today at 8am and set up fully expecting to get wet if the forecast was to believed. Gladly it stayed dry but sadly the birds had remembered my previuos outing and were giving the field a wide berth. Final tally at 2pm was 7 woodies and 8 corvids.

Slight marr on the day was to discover the site of a hide by another shooter some 20 yards from mine. The ground was littered with spent cases and in the hedge back was a pile of about 25 woodies and crows with a HARE carcase. The empties were slightly rusted indicating a recent visit. The cases (white cases marked with W.Richards of pocklington-if the dirty ******* is reading) were collected and presented to the landowner-He's not impressed to say the least and the other shooters can expect some serious watching. For me, its shows a disgraceful abuse of a nice little permission.

Paddy the Lab worked hard but I'm always reluctant to let him pick up any wounded crows- I've heard of dogs loosing eyes from a peck whilst being being retrieved.

Picture one shows my hide. The net is a home made job with some natural foliage added.

Picture two shows the bag loaded up for the game dealers.

Gun used is a Browning Citori high rib trap gun choked half and full.

Thanks for your time
