Malc
I've used roofed bale hides and sometimes a camo-net roof when the hide is in the open, but 9 times out of 10 I prefer to take advantage of an overhanging part of the hedgerow or tree. Years ago I would struggle on without overhead cover, often being spotted by high birds before they came into range. Having a mainly white spaniel in the hide doesn't help either. I can't remember the last time I went "cabriolet".

Steve
You're right Mick! Crows and maggies will see you a mile away unless you're really well hidden. *******!
lazza
I don't usually bother with a roof with pigeon, unless their coming in from behind me & turning off when they see me. But I always use a roof if I'm out for crows.
