stubby
its not going to hurt, trying out the rabbit trap, bait it with peanut butter on the treadle plate, if no luck, try and lend a KANIA trap from someone, instant kill, are you anywhere near essex? Lewis F
Yeah I'll give it a try! Ive heard peanut butter is one of best baits! I live about a 1-2 hour drive away I believe, Do you know how much those traps are as I may invest in one! Thanks!
webber
Why do you want to live trap the squirrel? Do you think its a red squirrel? If you trap a grey, live, its illegal to release it. If you only have grey squirrels in your area, invest in a couple of Mk4 Fenn traps, and mind your fingers. webber

Do you think its a red squirrel? webber if you read his post, because he has a live catch rabbit trap to hand, saves purchasing anything today as for prices of kania's, your looking at £50 each, then you'll also need to fix it to a board, and make an artifical tunnel under it, to stay within the law I personally prefer mk6 fenns on squirrels, if your over essex way, I have brand new kanias, with tunnel, £40, sorry no posting

I have a couple, they come out as required, but that spring is evil, as you say, mind your fingers, this trap will take them off! Interestingly I have just got a few new Mk6 Fenns, I can't believe how much stronger the spring appears than on my old ones, all I could do to set them! Most live rabbit traps will do the job, and as most areas have bird feeders about I seldom have any trouble getting the squirrel with a thumbnail of bread with peanut butter, he will get pretty lively in the trap though! webber
Bait the rabbit trap with peanut butter, and have the air rifle ready. Try to cover the trap. webber
