safetyfirst
Hey all. A few of us are going away to the forest of Dean for a week's well earned rest and we'd like to find somewhere decent to do a few clays. We'd really like somewhere well setup with claymate counters and more of a "go wherever you like, pay when you're done" kind of thing like Southern Counties shooting do or Doveridge in Derbyshire. Does anyone know of a really good ground with varied traps and a relaxed pace? Thanks! Chris.

silver pigeon 3
How about Ian Coleys just outside Cheltenham, Depending on where abouts in the forest you are staying probaly about 30-45 mins away from you. Check out there website but it is a very professionaly run ground and open all week
Thunderbird
I've never been there but would Treetops near Newport be fairly close? Mind you Ian Coley's could be just as easy and +1 on that, it's excellent.
Dustem Dave
speak to steve nutbeam at longridge shooting ground Steve nutbeam is not open during the week, unless it's for coaching. Ian cooley's is a top ground and tree tops is quite good aswell.
safetyfirst
Thanks everyone, through half an hour of googling I never seemed to find treetops or Ian Coley, despite them both being the closest!
psych4shooting
Ian Coley comes up first on Google, web address is www.iancoley.co.uk and number is 01242 870391, is Open 6 days a week, but not Bank Holiday Monday - late Nights on Thursday. Hope this helps.
Mickthemiller
Hi you will find tree tops web site at treetops-sporting .co.uk it is only just off the M4 at Tredgar. If you go to Ian Coley they are a bit pricey my mate went there a few weeks ago and paid 30p a clay, but you get what you pay for its all there a great set up, Best of luck Mick the Miller
psych4shooting
Ian Coley`s has Clay Mate, so you can can round on your own with a delay release system, as Mick says "you pay for what you get", is 30 mins from the F of Dean. Treetops is about the same distance.
HDAV
Ian Coley`s has Clay Mate, so you can can round on your own with a delay release system, as Mick says "you pay for what you get", is 30 mins from the F of Dean. Treetops is about the same distance. Treetops also has claymate, carts for sale, guns to hire, lessons etc and is 20 min from Cardiff if you want to do some shopping/siteseeing etc. And cheaper per clay 25p open during the week, worth checking by phone before you set off if you want to hire kit, and a sportsmans just down the road (cheaper carts) oh and you can shoot plastic at treetops or fibre
