Mike525steel
The post is as the title suggests im looking for reasonably priced clay shooting in cheshire. ive grown up shooting game and vermin but i have recently turned to clay shooting as im not getting enough shooting in all year round. i like the sporting set ups but wouldn't mind a bash at the other diciplines i dont mind pay as you go or the club membership and will travel around half an hour or so to shoot. Has anyone got any suggestions of places they recommend they would be much appreciated Edited June 13, 2011 by Mike525steel

Mr Potter
Cloudside in congleton not to far from you mate He did say reasonably priced stokeshooter and the last time I was there it was set up more for trap & skeet, not sporting but it is probably the nicest kept ground in the country and with the most luxurious clubhouse I've ever darkened the doorway of. http://www.cloudside.co.uk/ Mr Potter
Mike525steel
i have been up to the cloudside a few times and i find it a bit pricey for the practise as when your shooting on your own a hundred clays is over in no time and if your not a member it was i think about 36 quid. plus your carts and thats spending your money fast. i went to hodnett today it was 40 quid 100 bird shoot with a squad of 12 people,a spotter(guide),super challenging layout, a bacon butty to start and a meal afterwards. we started shooting at 1 and finished at 4.30 i think that is reasonable the club that i attend as a guest from time to time is 12 quid for a 50 bird sporting layout i also think this is cracking value for the work that goes into setting up the shoot. but the waiting list is huge for the memberships

Greenhunter
Catton Hall, Frodsham, not the nearest but £21 for 100 birds isn't bad IMO. GH
Citori1
Hi Mike Here's a few places to try which are within easy striking distance: Manchester Clay Shooting www.manchesterclayshooting.com - Awesome sporting layout + Skeet (around 24 stands and they change weekly) in a lovely setting - 30-45 mins from your location all motorway.(worsley) Fauxdegla Shooting Ground www.fauxdeglashootingground.co.uk - Sublime sporting layout - one of the best I've seen! + skeet / DTL and Compak Sporting - About 45mins drive (wrexham) Doveridge Shooting Ground www.doveridgeclaysports.co.uk - Comprehensive sporting layout + Skeet and DTL - About 45 mins away (Uttoxeter) A bit further afield.... Kelbrook Shooting Ground www.kelbrookshootingschool.co.uk - Sporting in the Yorkshire hills...nice! - About 1 hr 30mins Coniston Shooting Ground www.conistonshootingground.co.uk - Sporting + Skeet and DTL in Yorkshire - About 1hr 45mins..stay on site at the hotel and make a weekend of it! All of the above are about £6 for 25 clays Guess the club you refer to is the one at Holmes Chapel by Junction 18? If you need some company to go shooting with anytime,PM me with contact details, if you already have some companions, then try any of the above... you won't be dissapointed! I agree Hodnet is great.... and Cloudside is expensive.. but nice location and food!
