hushpower
Hi their, has any body field tested the seeland calverton jacket? If so what do you think of it? Is it heavy or a light weight coate? How good is the waterproofing ? etc ,many thanks
al4x
they are a good coat for the money especially if you get them from John Norris when they are on £75 special. They are medium weight with some padding. Waterproof wise no issues with mine and the material is reasonably heavy so has stood up to a seasons beating no problem, I'm one of those beaters who goes through cover not round it so it usually tests most coats

It's not _heavy_ but it's definitely not lightweight, I've been out a couple of really cold days and stayed warm with a few layers underneath. I haven't been out in torrential rain for a long period but have been out when it's been pretty wet and have stayed dry. A good all rounder IMHO. hushpower
Thanks ,was tempted to get one for the grouse moors this time round when it rains it rains round here.
al4x
on the moors you may be better with a goretex jacket, these are one step on from a barbour and seem very hard wearing. Wouldn't bet on it being completely waterproof on a torrential day though and obviously on the moors you don't need protection from brambles etc
