Hairy Pat
Hi Lloyd I use Eley subsonic hollow point Xtra's they are cheap and fine for bunnie blatting. I tried some Federal Gold Medal match 40 grain solids, they were too expensive for bunnies but gave wicked touching groups at 50m on the range. Curly87
cheers for that, im hearing alot of gd things about the Eley's have to give them a proper try tomoz. i think im just going to buy one box of each on watever they have and see how it goes. Hairy pat: wen u say the Federal Gold Medal rounds are expensive are we talking about a big differance in price compaired to the winchester's? Hairy Pat
I don't remember the exact price of the Federals, but in comparison to the Eley's they were too expensive for rabbit shooting, worth shooting on the range with though as the 5 shot group was more than half the size of the Eleys. I find Eleys head clip rabbits out to 100m with my Anchutz so they are good enough. I've never used Winchesters as my local shop does not stock them. Axe
Winchester or Eley; Winchester are harder hitting and smell better but Eley are slightly more accurate. Best bet try a couple of bricks of each and see for yourself.

marlin.45
My CZ452 Varmit runs on CCI Subs. Works in my rifle. Federal Gold last time I bought some were around £9 for 50 !!!
Dead-Eyed Duck
Winchester or Eley; Winchester are harder hitting and smell better but Eley are slightly more accurate. Best bet try a couple of bricks of each and see for yourself. My experiences with many rimmies have been exactly the same as yours Axe. Eley slightly more accurate, with Winchesters more oomph. As a result of this I have always used Winchesters in the semi-autos that I have owned, as the chances of misfeeding are less. I have owned various Brnos, Anchutz, Ruger, Krico and now use a Sako Varmint. Don
