rimfire4969
Here is a strange one for anyone who knows something about defenders or car electrics. My defender has just started to flash every indicator light when I want to just turn left or right, in other words it's like I have put the hazards on, and the light on the dials light up with the trailer light. I have plugged my trailer in and it made no difference. Anyone got any bright ideas???
handy4454
Hello mate I would be inclined to unplug the hazard switch first and then try the indicators, the hazard switch is where the right side and left side indicator wiring meets, regards Steve
rimfire4969
Taken the hazard switch apart. When I unplug the back all indicators stop, can't find anything loose, put back same as before. Next stop indicators
J@mes
Check all the earths are good too! Many a strange 12v electrical fault is caused by a faulty earth!
rimfire4969
Right putting the hazard switch back together the indicators flashed correctly for a second, playing around looks like a dodgy switch, pulled and pushed a few wires and it works but don't think it will last long, hopefully the PVC tape will hold. I will order up a new switch. Thanks for you help.

Jackmanm15
I had something similar on my defender. Turned out to be a short on the trailer socket caused by corrosion.
Paul223
aye, isolate the trailer plug wiring first then go for hazard switch
Albion
is the hazard switch not fused separately from the indicator? It is on mine!
