Hi all in the process of applying for my FAC but need to get some experience and preferably have someone that could write a letter to go with my FAC stating I'm a safe shot etc etc

So is there anyone in Essex with a .22LR or .17HMR that could help me out, obviously all costs would be covered ammo, travel etc and I'm not a complete newbie I've got an SGC and shot air rifles forever.

Few background details

Bradley White, 18 years old

Based in Brentwood, M25 Junction 28

SGC, Beretta O/U, Air Rifle

Got a car so I can travel

Got a few permissions that are pretty full of rabbits, and I'm always in the process of trying to pick up more

If anyone could help it would be much appreciated

Regards

Brad

I think the lad just needs to learn a few of the terms a little better and get to know a bit more about the sport so he can come across better to his FEO. A UK shooter having slots for shotguns in his signature isn't a great start - we don't have slots on SGC's only FAC's. You can buy watever shotgun you want pretty much, no need for a slot.

+ Beretta Silver Pigeon S - 12g (Back!)

+ Slot for SBS .410

+ Slot for Cogswell & Harrison SBS

+ Webley Hawk .22

+ BSA SuperMeteor Mk.1

+ BSA SuperTen : Simmons ProAir 9 - 18

Somewhere around about there.

Edit... It sounds like I'm picking on the lad now. I'm not really intending to - just pointing out that some things don't sound quite right and if he's going to get a FAC he needs to be a bit more on the ball! :good:

Hi all just been back on here - I understand what slots are etc I just said "slot for" cos I was after them guns at the time. Surely you could still call it a "slot" as that is what it would take up on a licence haha

I already go beating and occasionally shooting at a shoot in Witham pretty much every weekend which I've been doing so for the last four seasons and I do occasionally go dust (haha I wish; although I'm not bad if I do say so myself) some clays at Orions (Harold Wood/Brentwood way) and I've been up to fennes and had a safety lesson and an hour of tuition

Regards

Well getting back on here and explaining what you mean is a good start! I wouldn't ever consider wanting something to be a slot (if it was I'd have more slots than you can fit on an A4 sheet of paper!).

I hope someone comes along to help you. Do you have any land where the farmer wouldn't mind you taking someone along once introduced? If so someone with an open FAC maybe wouldn't mind coming there with you and showing you the ropes. It's much harder to talk someone into taking an unknown person onto their hard earned permission than it is to get them to come along to your ground and get to shoot somewhere different! ;)

Yeah I've got a bit of land that is crawling with bunnies but I'm not sure how suitable it is for firearms - it is situated in a bit of a valley stream at the bottom higher land on both sides so I imagine that would be a pretty safe shot and I've been out trying to get more from farmers/landowners - ive got my dad (farrier so meets lots of farmers/equestrian type people) giving out my details and a little leaflet explaining I've got an shotgun, air rifle that's moderated, insured etc

Ive got quite a few permissions and my own bit of land but not all of it is big or safe enough for a firearm
