Chokemeister
DISCLAIMER: This is purely hearsay at this stage. I'm only mentioning a rumour I heard today. All the land around this area was recently sold off to private interests. I have heard A6 (which rented their area), and a few of the tenants in buildings around the area, have been told to leave, money has 'other plans' for the lands. A6 to finish, around beginning of September if I heard right. IF TRUE, this is a disaster for local shooters. It was also the only real social life for many of the elderly shots. I hope this is untrue. I stress, this is only hearsay.
Nicky T
Whilst i've heard similar, I believe that the future of the A6 is still to be decided and won't be known until September. Until then it's business as usual.
Gordon R
It would be a genuine shame. Very handy for mid-week practice.
Chokemeister
So it's not a done deal? Good! let's hope they work something out. You know, there's decades worth of lead shot in those surrounding fields... in theory, many tonnes of lead. If scavenged, it would provide them enough scrap-lead value to buy the damned fields! fenntay
i heard the same rumour as well but something to do with british coal owning the land
Chokemeister
Sad news, it's 100% done-fer now. The club is to close. Round about September, and it closes for the last time. Seems the farmer who bought the nearby farm wants the area for grazing, which I find, questionable, given the good rent A6 paid. Someone after A6 on the cheap? The die-hard DTL crowd there are in a pickle. Worlsley was mentioned, but consensus seems it's a poor facility for lots of DTL shots. Will Worlsley rise to this? Or will the ex-A6 regular shooters jump a bus to Wales for the weekly shoots?

Chokemeister
How certain must it be given traps have already been sold off.
B25Modelman
You know, there's decades worth of lead shot in those surrounding fields... in theory, many tonnes of lead. So the land is contaminated...hmmmm
