Pigeons with the small gauges on barley

Bluebarrels and I had arranged to shoot today,and nearly called it off due to the torrential rain. :unsure: We had a quick chat and decided there was a chance of a few dry spells so headed off to the farm. It was still raining hard when we arrived at 1pm, so we spent 1/2 an hour watching the bird movement. After a bit of reccying, we picked a likely looking spot, built two hides 50 yds apart. The whirly went out infront of the two hides and a dozen shells/full bodied decoys.

BB was using his 20g and I decided to take the little Yilditz .410 o/u just to make things interesting :lol: The birds came in in steadily throughout the afternoon offering some easy shots we should have hit, and testing high speed divers we should have missed :lol::lol: I moved the whirly a couple of times as the bird movement changed which seemed to work :yes:

Finally called it a day around 6pm. Throughout the day our clickers were pretty much level pegging and the final count was BB 44 myself 41. 85 shot and 71 picked. The barley was so wet and soggy to try and find the rest would have done too much damage.

A good day out :good::good:
