jasper3
We have a small run down farm in the 03 dept in France , nothing massive just a 10 acre field with a few run down buildings, we were over there about 6 years ago when the wife said she heard a pig in the back garden  i looked and could see a some movement in the wooded area ........ next minute 34 wild boar ran out and through the field   it was october time and it was shooting season..the boar had been chased out of the local woods and took refuge in our woods... hell of a sight to see, the biggest were the size of small cows and the smallest were the size of cocker but boy could they run and barbed wire fencing was like butter to the big one's ..straight through. just wish i knew how to transfer the video to the PC to get it up on line, it was hell of a sight and Diceman..your not far wrong they do like a little Drink, even at 9am

jasper3
It takes 6 1/2 hours drive from cean, and I think we will be selling, don't really want too, but it seems such a shame that we can't find the time to get over there.. our aim was to have the farm house as a home and then turn the rest into 4 gites/holiday lets, plus have 6 very large camping pitches, and a small holding :( there is a small village just up the road and two small towns about 6 miles away..the big town of moulins is about 11 miles away it also has a massive forest just down the road ...its a beautiful area, and the locals are great. the red dots are the border..the blue are where the wild boar ran through we have great neighbours who are looking after the place, here is a area shot Edited July 9, 2011 by jasper3
Mungler
I saw a Normandy farm up for sale (friend of a friend) on FB - 6 acres, with a main farm house (3 story 8 beds), about 5 various stone out buildings (which need work) and the asking price was the GBP £115k. Dinard being the nearest airport. Cheap as chips over there.
Cranfield
I moved these posts into a separate topic, to avoid the "Moving to UK from France" thread being too derailed.
