foxnet22
hi mate cant comment on the other but i have just purchased a 595 in 223.after looking at centrefire,s for some time now remmy howa browning,s etc i came across the 595 soon as i picked up the rifle it suited me ie balance, smooth bolt etc.mine has a synthetic stock and has a good feel to it.i did a lot of research on the rifle and very rarely if any found any bad comments about it. i was advised by many including a lot of our fellow long range shooters from the u.s.a not to let it slip away so i bought the rifle and love it.but the decision is yours fella good luck. Loki
Hi I can only speak for the M595 as I have one in .222/SS/Synthetic. Had it a few years now and won't be parting with it. Never had a problem with it - touch wood, has always done what asked of it if I did my bit! I find it light, compact and easy to point. I believe there are options via an Australian company to 'tweak' bits, such as plastic rear to the bolt, bolt handle etc. It may even be possible to replace the plastic magazine well/trigger guard................. I understand this model lends itself well for custom rifles - dont remember many coming up for sale pre-owned. Over to you...... Cheers

Tiger955i
HI Mate. It dose not answer your question but I have a 590 in .223 with a wooden stock and love it. It is so well balanced and the stock fits brilliantly and accuracy is unquestionable. ATB

Loki
I have a Parker-Hale M81 Classic, .243W, from new, on homeloads it shoots less < 1" groups - so in my opinion if you can find one with provenance (verifiable history) not a lot of money for (in my opinion) a good looking 'tool' depending on how you see your 'kit/toys' etc. I have had it 'tweaked' with a Raeburn? safety and Canjar trigger) over the years. Like scopes too much information can only detract from the individuals Mk 1 Eye and how this varies from person to person - whilst this can help you minimise the variables (ie tests/reviews etc) but at the same time you end up paying for '98% light transmission' which may well be fine using instrumentation............... I say this based on having Swarovski, Zeiss, Shepherd, Tasco & Nikko optics - all on full-bore rifles from when I took up culling/stalking etc in 80s.................... My rifles at this time include Beretta(.270), Steyer-Mannlicher(.300WM), Tikka(.222), Winchester(.375H&H), Ruger(.22).
