tarn2215
Hi, I have recently moved to south Yorkshire and got my first gun. I am wondering if anyone knows of some nice friendly sporting shoots where I could go and cut my teeth and potential make some shooting friends in this neck of the woods! tarn2215
Nice one, thank you. I will have to give that a go. It's so easy for you blokes to rock up at a shooting ground where you don't know no one, but you do it as a women and you get a lot of funny looks! DonnyB
On the basis I am correct to assume you are female................... My wife has recently started shooting and since I work away a fair bit she often goes to Park Lodge without me. Like you she prefers to go with someone so usually takes a friend or relative. I am sure she would be happy to go there with you and show you around etc so if you fancy a trip out with her then PM me your details and I will pass them onto my missus. PS we live just north of Doncaster - near the A1 Edited July 26, 2011 by DonnyB

No problem at Park Lodge ,i see plenty of ladies turning up on their own, and as the stands all have a delayed release function shooting on your own isn't an issue either whether lady or gent. Nice friendly bunch as well. Edited July 26, 2011 by Jega
canthitathing
Park Lodge is a good choice. As Jega says the ground staff are a really friendly bunch and it's a nice ground with a good range of targets. I use it for practice every week, usually Saturday mornings and Thursday evening when I can make it. The club coach Andy is top bloke if you need a lesson. Work is just about to start on the new clubhouse, which having looked at the drawings will be magnificent. Maybe see you there
tarn2215
Thanks for all the replies guys. Back home I've got no problem turning up at the grounds on my own because I know the staff etc. I will look into park lodge and the one near Barnsley as I am in Barnsley town centre so that would be ideal.
