dazza
You obviously havent seen a black back gull pecking the eyes and **** out of a sheep then fella.I would much prefer shooting gulls than clays. As for tips for shooting them.We set up at quite a long range as they can be wary, where you know they are a problem and use the rifle on them. The old fella used to shoot loads like this as they were very destructive during lambing. Your right I haven't and I've lived on the coast all my life.

Well, thank PW because you have learned something new and now know that gulls can make a better quarry than little bits of clay that get flung about. Katash
I work in a factory right next door to another factory that processes chickens .... I'm not joking there are hundreds here (normally about 100 in the air at 1 time - directly overhead) Its like run the gauntlet when moving between buildings some days, a workmate of mine got **** on twice at the same time the other day, not to mention the damage its doing to peoples cars in the car park And all my company feels the need to do about this problem? a falconer attends site a few days a week - this is totally useless and the gulls just mob the poor bird now. a while ago we had somebody shooting the eggs with an air rifle but apparently that's not allowed any more (again according to my company) There are a few shooters work here but we keep getting told "its against the law - no you cant shoot them" .... I'm not sure what type of gulls they are but the little **** are an absolute menace here - I would think that this is a classic case for shooting them - but then again the people in charge here never have to come out of their air conditioned offices and their cars are paid for by the company. if these stupid restrictions ever change there is going to be LOADS of lead in the air round here ..... That'll sort the little ******* out! (By the way - I live in the Midlands, miles from any coast.)
daz2202
I can't tell the Difference between the two black wings so just googled it. Nor does google as it uses the same pics for the two species of black backs. Think I will stick to shooting what I know I can !
