Flashman
I was a little surprised to see a mounted badger head, in the terrier tent at the CLA yesterday. Now it looked old and moth eaten, and was no doubt killed long before such things were illegal or could even have been road kill for all I know... Lack of self awareness? PR disaster? Failure to perceive how others might see them? I think so. What do you reckon? An old, moth-eaten head. In a tent. Best you stay away from the Natural History Museum: they have a whole whale - dead, on display! You have too much free time or not enough to worry about. EMcC
Some people still think Badgers are rarely seen, so the stuffed Badger may have been put there just to give people an idea of what a real badger looks like. Thinking about it though, most people would probably get the impression that a Badger is Saucer shaped after seeing so many of them on the side of the road or get the impression that they travel on their backs with their little legs in the air

My you're a wag I'm not worried about this in the slightest, just interested in others' views about the PR aspects and fancied a discussion about it. By and large that's exactly what I got and I even learned a few things in what had been a good natured discussion until your contribution. You seem to get your rocks off posting sarccy comments and generally having a pop. I had a quick look but couldn't find any evidence that you'd ever contributed anything positive or tried to help anyone on here. I bet you're a nice bloke in person, but you really need to work on your communication skills Edited July 26, 2011 by Blunderbuss
Paddy Galore!
Just noticed Nogbad is banned, he didn't last long what'd he do? back on topic now, it's actually nice to hear some of the terrier men speak up, and good to hear they're not all about death and destruction, sometimes the old ways are the best afterall Edited July 26, 2011 by GRAM71
toka_shigazu
gotta say i am not against hiding stuff like this away, i think that may mean it is more of a shock when it is occasionally seen. if somehow things like this [and other fieldsoprts stuff] could be shown to the general public in a respectful light it may mean less knee jerk reaction when you come to the hard decisions as seeing a dead animal wont necessarily mean a 'cruel' death etc... it goes for all fieldsports not just the badger thing at the moment. the more we can promote the respecful sight of dead animals the better i think... atb

Forgive me, but that's worthy of open scorn, so the gentle mocking you received seems a let-off. PS: Glad you liked the previous posts. Fair play to you It's just a shame you're a one trick pony and that's the sum total of your repertoire. However hard you try to convince us all you're an just an embittered old troll hunched over your keyboard with nothing better to do but spit bile and **** on other people's cornflakes, we all know that deep down you're a warm friendly human being Edited July 27, 2011 by Blunderbuss
vulpicide
In his day "Flashman" would have given you a damn good thrashing as regards badger baiting the gentleman I mentioned Barry Wade has done more to promote legitimate terrierwork internationally than anyone else in Britain we at the National Working Terrier Federation also introduced The Terrier code of conduct that was adopted by all the major fieldsports organizations and the MFHA it was this code that allowed the NWTF so much input to the Scottish Parliament thats why terrierwork in Scotland has less restrictions than in England as has houndwork as far as pr is concerned we are always ready to take part in a reasoned debate and have much research to back up our arguements

You know how it is though at the game fair, too much to see and not enough time. That and trying to stop my missus buying "bargains" we didn't need whilst trying to covertly procure some that we (I) did
