Supprise while target shooting...

The other day while sat in my back garden target shooting at 25 yards, Just finished zeroing as I do before I start targeting every time, and as I'm putting a few drops of pellet lube into my tin of .22 H&N Field Target Trophys, I'm appriciating a lovely small Chaffinch in our Cherry tree, the trunk of which, is where my target board backstop is rested up against.

Next thing I know, a Maggie swoops the poor little thing off a branch and on the floor directly infront of my target board.

Before I even think about it - and here's where i'll get the lecture about letting nature take its course, - I've got my Hawke 3-9X50 HD IR Mil dot perfectly sighted on it's head, just behind the eye.

And with a swift THWACK, the Chaffinch flutters its self free and the Maggie goes down in one, without a fuss.

The end result, one more beautiful small perching bird to sing its song, and one big bully to no more SQUARK in my yard.

Observe if you may...
