Hi

we are thinking of going to Great Yarmouth & the surrounding areas soon and wondered if anyone had any suggestions on where to go around the area on days out.

We have 2 kids so it needs to be child friendly - unless i throw them in the Broads....lol

Any suggestions would be appreciated as i dont fancy having them bouncing off the caravan walls for 2 weeks.

Personally i'd prefer to go shooting for the full 2 weeks in the area but think the mrs may have summert to say about that.

Cheers in advance.

:thanks:

Sealife centre in Yarmouth is Ok but a bit pricy.

Some good pub walks around North Norfolk.

Billy Bells skeet range is in Yarmouth, bit rough but after nearly 2 weeks in the caravan with kids you will be gagging to go.

Difficult to say really it depends on what you like doing, there is a reasonable train link from Yarco to Norwich etc so you could explore Norfolk by train?

there's quite a bit, thrigby hall is nearby (zoo), suffolk wildlife park(another zoo), pleasurewood hills etc, the coast road takes you all the way up through sheringham, holkham, to hunstanton, sea palling is the place to go if you have kite/wind surfing in mind. there's also more than a few good ole norfolk members who might take you out for a nights lamping...

The north Norfolk coast between Yarmouth and Hunstanton is stunning. We go for rides out there in the summer. You can go to happisburgh and show your kids the power of the sea as it washes houses from the cliff tops into the water below. The steam train from sherinham along the coast is fantastic too. Also down at Lowestoft there's pleasure wood hills theme park and also Africa alive safari park which are both quite good fun. Have a good time

Beccles Lido is good. Heated and safe for the kids, spaces to sit and eat if you take a picnic. Hire a boat by the hour in Beccles too, and Earsham Otter Sanctuary is just down the road. Flixston air museum is good for a few hours, and free entry during the week!

Thats not just Norfolk chap, thats just about everywhere in the UK though as soon as you go to anywhere that creosoted old duffers walk around in deck shoes, pink trousers and with jumpers over their shoulders there definately seems to be a premium payable on all items.
