sg1
Been thinking about trying out the Firebird targets at one of our shoots but thing is, we shoot over cornfields which have just been harvested in the nice 'dry' weather lately!! Will it be safe enough or am I likely to cause Fireman Sam to pay us a visit :o :o :o ?? probably best to wait for wet weather I reckon? atvb sg1
BigG
They go bang with a huge flash when hit. I think they need to be face on, have not seen one hit side on but could be wrong (full choke maybe???). If they land not hit they don't go bang so should be OK? sg1
So there's no chance of the phosphurus(or whatever it uses) reaching the ground and setting fire to my farmers nice dry, recently harvested cornfield then?? atvb sg1

figgy
We used some of these last week, cracking good flash off them, reminded me of the old type camera flash that they used to hold in the air on a stick . loads of white smoke after the flash but nothing that came anywhere near the ground. Whether it would have set light to anything on the deck I don't know, but there is a risk.

sg1
I wonder if a 'no bird' (caused by misloading) from an auto trap could cause it to ignite as it may well squash/crimp the firebird with the swingarm against the hopper/tray etc!! Maybe I'm overthinking the situation but when it come to the safety of 15+ people on one of our little shoots then all things need to be considered, I suppose I could contact Firebird and ask them but they're hardly going to discredit their products safety potential which is why I'm asking the guys/gals who have actually used them atvb sg1
