Hi chewy, and welcome to the site,

you can buy floaters in your local gun-shop

or if your in  'blue peter' mode you can make them from

straightend coat hangers,

If you make a cradle and wing supports in one end and

dig the other end in the ground they are quite effective,

hope this helps.

Hi Chewy.

If you decide to make a whirly with a wiper motor, remember to wire in a dimmer switch or something so you can control the speed.  If you don't, it'll end up going round like a bloody helicopter!!

PS - You do realise we'll only be gentle for your first few posts   .

chewy, welcome to the forum.

If you are a handyman type, then the best bet is, go to your local Gun Shop and have a good look at their floaters.

Don,t forget to take a tape measure, pencil and paper.

If you write quickly, you will get it all down before they throw you out.

The rotary device is far too complicated for me.

I bought mine/

They are available at around £100 or less now.
