proTOM1
Dont see any problem as the tend to spend the night in the middle of the field ,so if you drive across just take care
Quist
If you're using a modded 22 on the coneys, on foot and with just a spotting torch and no dog it shouldn't disturb the greys. However if your'e charging about on a quad bike with a lamp, then yes it will disturb them
Alycidon
Could you start another thread on how you are achieving this feat, I am stuffed wall to wall with Sparrow Hawk, kestrel, Buzzard, Red Kite and even a Hobby was seen recently. I have taken over 100 magpies this year so far in Larsens which cant have done any harm. The GC grey project reports 60% adult preditation by birds of prey alone between the end of shooting and June. Add a few more for charlie etc and what chance do they have even under higher level stewardship and small mixed fields. ie no block farming. But yesterday my covey of redlegs exploded from under my feet in some stubble, all big strong birds, 13 or 14, looked magnificent. A

keeperdan
Yes,, the vermin need sorting out,, I'am always trying to think of new ways of getting them,
cookingfat
night shooting should not disturb them at all, no more than a fox or black & white going through them, they will regroup, night time lamping is the best way to catch up pairs in the spring. good luck Tony

hendersons
Hi Dan Sounds like your pretty close to me from your profile location. I have seen at least 30 English partridge this year. I keep on top of the rabbits and fox like normal I just stop using anything that bangs too much and stay away from the scrub and hedges when it's nesting time.
