old rooster
My trusted brother the fisherman in the family says that the last is a Rudd and bar one of the remaing which is a common carp, the others are carp hybrids. About spot on I'd say and all vert tasty morsels as far as old Esox is concerned. Although some would call it bad form I've caught some stonking Pike on small pike as bait, where there has been an explosion in the small pike population. They are voracious feeders and have been known to tackle such large prey that they've choked to death with their intended victim stuck in their throat. Never had a "30" but two fish of 27lb 14oz, one on a liveo and one on a lure in a big Irish lough on a spectacular day when 5 different twenties favoured us with their attentions !!! Doubt we'll ever match that catch

apbuild
Look like roach to me! Bred in a lake and are probably hybrid with the rudd. Note the red end to the pectoral fins. :yp: Rob.
mickymiroku
hi young airgunner, it,s not allways easy to tell from a photo, but they are probably crucians/ rud. as for telling dace/chub apart, look at the fins, the chub has convexed fins, whilst the dace has concaved , and you can forget about colour, as this varies from one water to another, also if the fish weighs more than 1 and a 1/2 pounds you can bet it is a chub.mind you if it is a dace you will have a record. regards mick.
