Chr15j
I have had my Simmons WTC 4-14x44 AO for about 15 years now! It started life on my .22 Theobrm Fenman and is now on my CZ 452 .22LR. I've been toting with the idea of a new scope for a while now, but havnt yet taken the plunge. My budget would be around £150 absolute max! What are peoples opinions on either getting a new scope or sticking with what I have. If recommend a change, what would you recommend? I have seen highly specced Doktor Optic scopes with AO and IR for around £100 and Hawkes for the same, but are they any good?
Colster
If you've seen Docter scopes for £100, buy them quick! I suspect you mean Richter Optik, not the same league at all. For £150, you'd get a nice second hand Leupold, VX-II/III but if you're happy with the WTC, why change unless it's failing or you want some feature it doesn't have. Chr15j
Yes I think it was richter optik. D'oh! Ate richter any good? Don't know about leupold really. I like the idea of a map/mildot for my rimmie just to make life that little but easier but if I would be trading down from my Simmons then I would have to reconsider

I don't rate them. I had a Hawke MAP Pro on my LR for a bit and that was ok, in fact my LR has probably had 8-10 different scopes on it, I wouldn't take the FX-III off it now though! Alycidon
Whats wrong withe the Simmons?, they are remarkably good scopes for the money. To trade up for a better quality optic you will have to go up to Luepold levels. A

Redgum
Your Simmons will be of much better quality than the rubbish Simmons are making now.
