Hi Red

No numbness andi have complete movement i got to be honest its a brilliant job the nuckle can click sometimes but thats it, the little finger is stiff for 5 mins or so in the morning due to me still using the night splint (for another 3 months Total 6 months)

Sound like they nicked a nerve and or tendon then in your case, i did read this can happen it can go or heel in time sometimes it does not good luck.

Sorry i feel like im thread jacking oooooops

I had carpel tunnel many moons ago, after many test's I rested it and it went away.I was told by the specialist that you dont get numbness in your little finger when suffering with carpel tunnel.

However 6 months ago I was waking in the night with numb lower fore arm and hand, had a quick google it pointed towards tennis elbow, after a bit more research I started taking double dose of omega 3,within a week the issue had subsided signficantly so worth a go for some of chaps

Had it in both hands, down to manual work when i was a youth on the farm. It used to wake me up at night, felt like somone was hammering a nail up each finger.

Had the op on both hands in my early 30s and not had a peep since.

Somone mentioned spanking the monkey... the great thing was, for a while it felt like somone else's hand and i didn't have to sit on it fiorst for ten mins

Coat...gone

I've had both hands operated on - ten years apart, and I'm told that it was the years of riding vibratory motorbikes wot caused it.

The first op was done when I was in BUPA, and I opted to be heavily sedated - so it took a good day for me to feel OK afterwards.

The other hand was NHS, with a local anaesthetic and I was chatting to the surgeon as he was operating - and then found out that this was the first one that he had done.

Fortunately he had his consultant supervising and telling him what to do - and it went well, if anything his stitching was neater

So - is the op worth it? Well if you want to struggle on with a numb tingly hand, then give the op a miss, otherwise just do it.

But check first that the surgeon isn't a beginner!
