sitty tree
I used 1/4 inch plywood and broom handles and mixed undercoat paint, good job. hello. new to site. have you tried gtting the widest grey guttering you can cut in 12 inch sections and draw the shape on and cut out with haksaw. you have shape of pigeon because of gutter moulding shape just like a shell decoy. drill a hole in the middle for a peg. you only have to put white flashes on sides. hope this helps you out.ps pigeon decoys are well over priced people will pay crazy money check what i mean on ebay. kent
Deeks or silloutes? Silloutes can be made out of 9mm WBP ply undercoat with Zinzer outdoor shellack based primer sealer then paint, make them adjustable at the neck via nut bolt and washer (also folding for carry). Canada silloutes can be made out od the black corogated card (like used on estate ajents signs) then painted with glue and flocked - not as durable and rigid but a lot lighter to cart about. Hi chris, As "sitty tree" says I've been making them for years from plastic guttering though I do add pink coulour to breast area and if you want to make then flocked just spray them over with carpet glue and place an bit of cotton sheet over wait till its dry then cut round.Ive also found best paint to use is artist acrilics and the best way to do your colouring is to lay a dead bird on floor beside it then you can mix paint to match pigeon also make a pegg with a spring on top this way they movge around in the slightest breeze.hope this helps.Cheers Dave.
