Bewsher500
I inherited some rounds with a rifle that are apparently loaded with Varget. Had no intention of using someone else's homeloads without full blast suit so pulled the bullets and emptied them for reuse. don't plan on using the powder before the Health and Safety executive have a coniption fit. But this powder is pale green/olive colour. I only have experience of VV powders is Varget this colour?
garyb
No. It's dark grey / black and is an extruded powder, rather than ball. Edited September 22, 2011 by garyb
Dougy
would the previous owner of the said bullets loaded them in such a way to put himself in danger, if they seemed to be a bit on the careless side then ok i could understand your actions but me i would of put one through if i thought they were of sound body and mind :yp:
Bewsher500
well I dont know what this is then. As far as the previous owner I cant vouch for him. the rifle owner had them loaded for him by someone else. I am afraid I see no point in even trying them, completely unknown entity. pulled them all now anyway
garyb
Pull them, save the powder for 05/11/2011
njc110381
I wouldn't shoot anyone elses home loads unless I knew them fairly well. Some people see the dangers of hot loads as far less serious than I do - I like my face is it is (as ugly as I am I'm used to it)!
