If the gun doesn't fit you properly you won't hit the clays I would start with that before wasting time patterning ?

Target shooters generally fall apart in the field don't dismiss a .22very usefull quiet calibre

I think .22 is good for up to 100 yards no problem people get to caught up with a .17 or centre fire because it requires no skill just point and shoot

I have a pro varmint .308 very accurate slick bolt can't go wrong with them

My mates got a Winchester trapper nice slick rifle preferred it to a marlin I had ejects from top rather than side but it doesn't seem to be an issue

I've got synthetic and wood stock guns they both get scratched either way but a good clean up after every outing and a wood stock will last a lifetime

Well I was expecting everyone to be saying 22.250 but there's still a lot of favour for the .223 it's just that I've seen a lovely r.p.a in 22.250 which got the cogs turning ! My last was a Kimber pro varmint which was a great gun but the rpa is nice!
