Magwitch
I use a LED Lenser on my 22 rimmy but with the red filter on its not up to the job when using the 17HMR, can someone recommend a decent lamping setup for a 17HMR................. Catweazle
I use a Lightforce 170 mounted on the scope, it has more than enough range for HMR.
Dekers
A Deben Mini or Max PRO will do the job, and the advantage of them is that they come with EVERYTHING you need, including the dimmer! The lightforce 170 throws more light, but that will simply be because it has the 75, or more commonly 100w lamp in it, the Deben Max is 50w and perfectly acceptable out to 400 yards, much less with a Red filter, but it's a HMR, and remember bigger lamps eat batteries quicker! I think you're right, I rarely have it up to full power even with the IR filter on.

MarcusSmart
I have just bought the Thrunite Catapult V3 with pressure switch and red filter. Unbelievable knocks spots off my old Deben Tracer Max Pro! Flashaholics
