Last nights lamping session.

Had a look out last night after some rabbits as the numbers are getting up again as I haven’t lamped this ground much this year. After shooting 57 on this ground last week I decided to clear a few more off this week and then give it a rest until I start to ferret it. I was shooting this week using the 22 again as lately I have preferred using it over my hmr.

With me driving and shooting whilst my mate was using the roof mounted lamp we were soon picking the rabbits off regularly getting a group of 4-5 before the rest would spook. After shooting 30 off the first field we moved to the other end of the farm where I shot a further 10 and then decided to let my mate shoot a few as it gets a bit boring lamping and play fetch and gut all night. He was using his hmr and accounted for the last 23 including the only black one of the night although we did see 9 of them but none presented a safe shot.

Moving onto some more ground that really on holds hares, we had a drive around a few fields that we have taken 32 hares off in the last 2 weeks. Not expecting much we saw another 5 hares and managed to shoot 4 of them ending the night on 63 rabbits and 4 hares.

Question do you take them to a game dealer if so which one the one i use will not take hares if you gut them.. The last ones i took in we got £4 each for them.. :good::lol:

I don't take anything to the game dealers, what ever we cannot eat ourselves or give away go as ferret food. :good:
