Frenchieboy
I am very happy with my Browning .22LR Pumper now that I have got the trigger and the scopes sorted out so it is time to think about getting it screw cut and a moderator fitted ready for some lamping action! The problem I have is that it has a tube fed magazine so there is not much clearance between the barrel and the magazine tube. I know that I can get a Parker Hale mod on and still leave room to reload the magazine without having to remove the moderator but I was wondering if there were any other moderators about of the same diameter (Or smaller) that the parker hale so that I had several options to consider and chose from rather than having to unscrew the moderator every time I want to reload the magazine. Any suggestions please lads?
Beretta28g
The parker hale is the thinnest i know of, however please remember that as a generaliseation the thinner they are the longer they are, and you dont want the gun to become unwieldy. I know exactly what you are saying there about the length which is why I was asking about one instead of the Parker Hale which is quite long. As long as I can find one that does not have to be removed every time I want to reload the magazine I will be thinking about getting the barrel shortened while I have the screw cutting and re-crowning work done. I was thinking about something like a 16 inch barrel! (It is currently a 21.5 inch barrel)
Fishermanpaddy
Whenever I bought my 452 I didnt like the diamater of the SAK the fella was trying to flog me so I went with a smaller diameter one, Im not sure of the name but I still have the box so ill post the details for you when I get home the night. Actually I remember now its a sirocco SM11 (INCLUDED IN THE LINK). Im not sure how it measures up with the Parker Hale but I have no complaints with it. Bradders
have a look at LEI mods, when I was looking for on for the HMR. I considfered one but they are very costly so settled for a fat SAK. Not sure they do one for .22lr though.....
scotland rifles
i have a tiny 22 lr end of barrel mod, its got to be 16mm to 20mm and just 4" long, works a treat on my long barreled 22 lr. bob.

Same here, I got one off a member on PW, baffles were kinked, not a problem, dressed it up, re-threaded it, on the Bruno Mod-2 now in place of the PH that I was using, works just as affective, if not better. With the shorter length working just as good as the longer version, it has put me forward for another project .......making an over barrel mod for the 22. Beretta28g
Just a thought but if you have got the cash why not make it a bull barrel and not have to worrry about a mod?
Frenchieboy
Just a thought but if you have got the cash why not make it a bull barrel and not have to worrry about a mod? The idea appeals to me so what do you suggest and what sort of money might I expect to pay. Is it something that I could do myself? Also, what sort of weight would it be likely to add to the rifle baring in mind that at the moment the rifle is surprisingly light which suits me especially for lamping with.
