mad1
The higher the amp the longer it lasts per charge basically. I use a 7.5 and I can get a night out of it lots of switching of and on mind meant to add that mine is only a 50w deben tracer max Edited October 3, 2011 by mad1
pegasus bridge
a decent lamp will eat a 7.5amp battery pretty quickly - the lithium batterys by deben are very good, a 22ah battery is lighter than the 7.5ah lead acid job (now they have sorted the right angle plug bit ). bullet boy
I'm lucky to have a Deben Lithium ION battery 12v 22ah and IMO it's the best battery available today.I also use a Lightforce S170 lamp and this lamp is fantastic also. stubby
are you lamping from a motor, or walking, as that will help your choice of battery size

barney 66
I use a lightforce 170 scope mounted lamp with a 75w bulb and a deben 8ah lithium battery, does the night on and off,if its a long night i use a jetbeam bc40 cree torch for spotting saving on battery power and also saves on my wrists using the gun to search with. I personly think if you lamp alone these two together make a great partnership.
Alycidon
I use a 140 and two 7 amp batts wired together to make a 14AH, using a 100w bulb I get about a hours light if that, batteries are getting a bit worn. I would certainly go for Lith Ion next time I buy some. Last time I bought some standard batteries I got them from a battery specialist, they are the same batteries that are used in some burglar alarm back up boxes. All top quality gear don't come cheap. If you do your Lamping on foot like I do you'll pay the money for one cos it's a God send! The lack of weight makes such a huge difference for a start plus the now new on board 'Fuel Gauge' shows you how much power you have. In a nutshell these batteries are nothing short of Fantastic!!
