Bobba
Many subscribe to the view that hyperflaps should be replaced with dead birds as soon as practicable as this gives more realism. But when you compare a hyperflap to a floater the floater has a more realistic profile (Based on a full bodied decoy) and better / more realistic colour scheme. So it begs the question "Why not put floaters on a rotary?" I have thought through the attachment issues but before experimenting I wondered if anyone has ever tried this set-up? And what is the considered opinion of others please. Many thanks Bob
Cranfield
You can buy full bodied flocked pigeon decoys with rigid outspread wings, purposely to fit on a rotary. The perceived advantage with the hypaflaps, is that they have wing movement. A fast rotary on a windy day makes foam wings impractical IMO. Greenhunter
I use my floaters on the rotary all the time. Mind you, I have to if I want to use it because I have modified the arms with the same fittings as the nemesis rods. Cranfield is correct when he said that foam wings are iffy on a very windy day, there are two options, leave the rotary in the truck and just use ordinary floaters or stiffen the wings So they stay flatter and don't keep turning vertically hiding the wing bars in the process. I've done exactly that with mine and it works well! GH
